Planning May With Me: Goals & Dreams

During the month of May, I want to become a more well-rounded person.

Some thoughts I’ve had for May.

As the weather consistently is warm, I find myself dreaming more of what I’m going to do on my gap year. I do this a lot, where I daydream about what I can do in the future, and so I let the present moment escape me. Doing these plan with me posts keeps me really grounded, to be honest. So here is what I plan on doing in May!

Creative

  1. I want to write the first chapter of my novel. I’m dedicating my gap year to this novel, and I sure as hell want to get started.

  2. Write ten poems! This is a consistent goal for me in general, but I want to focus my writing in other ways.

  3. Start multimedia projects. I love mixing art and writing together, it’s so fun.

  4. Get on top of my photography game. Learn to edit in light room.

  5. Find more freelance work; get paid for what I do. Why is it so hard to pay creative people :(

  6. Start making my own jewelry.

  7. Get into sculpture; teach myself something even if I can’t do it.

  8. Get back into making more drinks. Drinks are perfect for the summer.

Life

  1. I want to build more of a presence on the digital sphere. On LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram I’ve done quite a bit of branding, and it’s brought in hundreds of viewers to this website, but I want to improve upon my presence as a creative and human being on the Internet. This is a bit tough due to my digital minimalism ethos, but I need to find the right balance.

  2. I want to read four books. Just four.

  3. Nail down finals! I’m an anxious person, and school contributes quite a bit to this anxiety.

  4. Go on more walks with the family.

  5. Get rid of more of my wardrobe.

  6. Focus on a skincare routine.

  7. Play Twilight Princess. As much as I’ve been ranting about Twilight Princess for the past couple of months, I need to sit down and play it.

Linguistic

  1. Nail down the foundations of Bangla. I want to be able to know the alphabet, but some basic phrases as well. My OPI made me realize I need to get a start on this badly.

  2. Continue to study Turkish. My class ended at the very end of April, and while I made impressive Turkish gains during it, I want to continue this little language learning journey.
